Jordan is home to the Dead Sea, which is considered the lowest point on earth lying - 408 meters below the Sea Level. The area currently known as the 'West Bank' was previously controlled by Jordan during 1946-1956 at which time the 'Dead Sea Scrolls' were recovered, one of the most significant archeological finds of modern history.
